National Highways are carrying out a series of improvements to the M62 in East Yorkshire.
They are carrying out safety improvements by refreshing road markings and studs in both directions between junctions 37 (Howden) and 38 (North Cave), as well as on slip roads at both junctions.
They will begin work on the westbound carriageway first before moving to the eastbound.
To keep drivers and the workforce safe, they will need overnight full closures on the M62 westbound between junctions 38 and 37 (Monday-Friday, 8pm-6am) on these dates between 20 July and 7 August.
They will also be working on the eastbound carriageway between 10 August and 27 August under lane closures only.
Diversions
Motorists travelling westbound will be diverted from the M62 junction 38 via:
- A63
- A1034
- A1079
- A614
- Then back to the M62 junction 37.
This route is agreed with the local authority and is suitable for all vehicles including HGVs. Please note, the M62 junction 38 exit slip at North Cave has a 7.5tonne weight limit and has not been included within the diversion route.
They advise motorists to plan ahead and allow more time for their journey.
Please note, all closures are subject to change at short notice, depending on progress, operational requirements and weather conditions.
They apologise for any inconvenience caused during the closures and will aim to complete the work as soon as they can.
