Any person interested has the right to inspect and make copies of the accounting records for the financial year to which the audit relates and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other documents relating to those records must be made available for inspection by any person interested. For the year ended 31 March 2024, these documents will again be available during the following period

There are two charges for East Riding of Yorkshire Council – one charge is for general services and the other is a separate charge called the adult social care precept.
In 2024 / 25 the ERYC budget (gross expenditure) is £1,021 million.
This year ERYC need to collect 21.8 per cent of the budget from Council Tax. This is £222.6 million (including special expenses).
ERYC have increased the council’s part of the Council Tax bill by 4.99 per cent. This includes an increase to the general Council Tax charge of 2.99 per cent and a separate charge of 2 per cent to contribute towards the rising costs of adult social care.
Newport Parish Council precept Demand 2025/26
At the January 2025 meeting of Newport Parish Council, it was agreed to maintain the overall precept demand made by the Parish Council at £38,000 for the 2025/26 financial year. This precept will mean that the band D billing amount attributable to Newport Parish Council will be £75.05, which is a reduction of £0.51 and 0.7% compared to 2024/25.
