Any person interested has the right to inspect and make copies of the accounting records for the financial year to which the audit relates and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other documents relating to those records must be made available for inspection by any person interested. For the year ended 31 March 2025, these documents will be available during the following period:-
commencing on Wednesday 3rd June 2026
and ending on Tuesday 14th July 2026
The Newport Parish Council Annual Governance and Accountability Return for 2025/26 has been submitted to the external auditor for review. On completion of the review a notice of conclusion of audit will be issued and published. The accounts are currently unaudited.
Newport Parish Council precept Demand 2026/27
At the January 2026 meeting of Newport Parish Council, it was agreed to maintain the overall precept demand made by the Parish Council at £38,000 for the 2026/27 financial year. This precept will mean that the band D billing amount attributable to Newport Parish Council will be £74.02, which is a reduction of £1.03 and 1.4% compared to 2025/26.
