NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) recently approved permanent 7am-8pm opening hours at Bridlington and Goole Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs).
The decision followed extensive public engagement last year involving more than 1,200 residents, alongside a comprehensive review of clinical evidence, demand patterns and workforce pressures.
As part of the decision-making process, the ICB made a commitment to respond directly to feedback from local people – particularly around the need for clearer, more accessible information about urgent care services and how to navigate them.
To support this, they have developed the attached communications toolkit. This resource is designed to help you share consistent, easy-to-understand information with your audiences, including:
- The role of UTCs and what they treat
- The difference between UTCs and Emergency Departments (A&E)
- The range of options available for urgent care, including NHS 111
- Key messages to help the public access the right care, first time
